Naomi Eason

Naomi Eason has devoted her 20-plus years in the field of education to working with students of color. She began her career as an elementary school teacher at Highland Year Round and Sequoia Elementary Schools in the Oakland Unified School District. She then moved to the Emery Unified School District, where she served as a Reading Coach, Middle School Principal and a District Office staff member. While working on her dissertation at the University of the Pacific, Naomi worked in the California State University system in the CalStateTEACH multiple-subject credentialing program. Upon completing her doctorate, she joined the Alameda County Office of Education, first as the Intern Program Coordinator, and later as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Dr. Eason recently joined Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL), where she serves as the California Executive Director.
